Community Resources

A primary motivation in the work we do as a tribe, is our commitment to changing the way people share, access, and think of resources. As a result, we are constantly growing the amount and diversity of resources we can provide, so that everyone within our community may achieve their own creative, personal, and business goals while supporting local folks who offer services that are affordable and accessible.

 

With that said, below is an evolving catalog of Q4 in-house and partner services. If you would like to add a service, please contact the tribe. Mother Earth will love you for it.

Sound Engineering
We make sound happen so you don’t have to! We have small, medium and large sound system packages as well as individual audio gear available for rental at a “hood” rate.

  • Small and Medium Public Address Systems - available for meetings, lectures, live music events, and more…
  • Small to Large Sound Systems - to augment and enhance live bands, DJs, comedians, and entertainers at your next benefit or party.
  • Outdoor/Mobile Event Assistance - with our indoor/outdoor stage and sound equipment, as well as a solar powered bicycle with P.A. system attached, we can build your next summer festival, or make your event/entertainment mobile.
  • Sound Engineers - available for a sliding scale rate.

 

Event Services

We provide all-inclusive specialized event solutions. No request is too big, small, or outlandish – give us your vision and we’ll give you a plan

  • Staging - we have 6, 4′ x 8′ stage sections that can be assembled in various patterns. Its 24″ tall and includes stairs and a skirt.
  • Performers - DJs, musicians, artists, dancers, magicians, comedians, poets, spoken word artists, body painters etc.
  • Vendors - jewelry, customized scents, vintage fashion and accessories, art & crafts.
  • Workshops - various mediums of art, music, and activism.
  • Caterers - we have culinary professionals that specialize in delightful vegan, vegetarian, and meat friendly cuisine.
  • Venues - Chicago has an endless amount of spaces for events, shoots, and creative projects. The tribe has access to many.

Production Services


Hit us up for your next video or photo shoot! We can help you with everything behind and in front of the camera.

  • Video Recording Gear – top of the line video equipment to suit your recording needs.
  • Green Screen Room – allows you to edit video so that you can superimpose anyone or anything in your recording

We also have professional creative talent that can be contracted for the following:

Chicago Community Darkroom

Operated by a group of dedicated photographers, Chicago Community Darkroom N.F.P. was chartered in the State of Illinois in June of 2011 with the mission of providing the Chicago community with education and access to a fully equipped B&W wet lab darkroom.

  • 6 foot sink (new arrival in Oct, 2011, to be installed in film changing room)
  • Colenta thermostatic mixer panel
  • Simco ionizing blower (new arrival in Oct, 2011)
  • Zone VI 11×14 print washer, larger prints can be washed in trays with siphon
  • Omega universal 4×5 enlargers with 3 lense turrets with 50mm to 135mm lenses
  • Beseler color 4×5 enlargers
  • Nikor enlarger for 135 film.
  • A variety of negative carriers covering 35mm, 120 and 4×5 sheet film including a negatrans carrier for 120 film with an adjustable 6×9 gate
  • Grain scopes, filters and a color analyzer
  • print drying rack
  • Arkay 150 fiber print dryer (new arrival in Oct, 2011)
  • Arkay CD-40 film drying cabinet (new arrival in Oct, 2011)
  • paper cutter, mat cutter
  • Saunders and vacuum easels for paper upto 20″ x 24″

  • Chemistry includes various developers, indicator stop bath, various fixers, photoflo, emulsion cleaners, toners, hypo clearing agent, hypo check

Silk Screen and Printing Services

Siren Graphix is our resident silk screen and graphic design production center specializing in original design and custom work.
